Description

The legendary chair designed by Niels Otto Møller in 1974 for the Danish manufacture JL Møllers Møbelfabrik. It is a model cataloged under number 66. The organically shaped chair frame is made of highly valued rosewood and harmonizes perfectly with the soft black eco-leather seat. The design harmoniously flows into the rounded armrests. The subtle, rounded form is an example of a timeless design that, despite the passage of time, perfectly harmonizes with modern arrangements. Looking at this project from the side, it is not entirely clear if it is just a chair or a sculpture? Born in Århus in 1920, Niels Otto Møller designed furniture that gained a reputation for consistent excellence in quality and workmanship.

In 1944, Møller founded his own furniture company JL Møllers Møbelfabrik in a small workshop in the center of his hometown. In 1952, as the company grew, JL Møllers Møbelfabrik began exporting to Germany and the United States. To keep up with demand, Møller expanded its production facilities. There he continued designing dining chairs and armchairs in sculpted, organic forms. In 1981, JL Møllers Møbelfabrik received the Dansk Møbel Industri’s Furniture award, with a special distinction for the ability to combine the best craftsmanship traditions with modern furniture production. The Niels Otto Møller brand has become synonymous with the best Danish design. His sons, Jorgen Henrik Møller and Jens Ole Møller, run the company to this day.
