Description
This audiophile set of the legendary Danish brand Bang & Olufsen. The plant, producing the highest quality audiovisual equipment, was founded in 1925 by Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen. This brand is entered on the list of official suppliers of equipment for the Royal Court in Denmark, and the model we sell has the signature: Bang & Olufsen A / S by Appointment to the Royal Danish Court. In 1978, an individual exhibition devoted to the Danish brand was organized at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA), called Bang and Olufsen – Design for Sound by Jacob Jensen. Currently, some devices are in the permanent collection of the museum.
Our amplifier is a model designed by Jacob Jensen in 1973 – BeoMaster 1001. The main panel, made of black brushed steel, is enclosed in a teak frame. It is a harmony of minimalist design and functionality. Primary controls are easily accessible and the rarely used secondary controls are hidden. The amplifier has a built-in radio. Tuning to the selected station is extremely simple and precise, because the radio tunes by moving on the axis of the slider made of transparent plexiglass. Three favorite stations can be set for quick activation via the FM programmer, which has been hidden under a sliding steel on the top right panel. Then you just need to use the P1, P2 or P3 button to automatically turn on the frequently listened broadcasting device. The use of Field Effect Transistors (FET) and Automatic Frequency Control (AFC) ensures optimal FM reception and compensated for poor signal conditions during tuning. The amplifier has full tone control (AMBIO filter). Four columns can be connected (two at the rear and two at the front). In this way, an extended stereo reproduction and a more realistic musical experience can be obtained, eg when playing back a recording from a concert hall. Particularly noteworthy is the issue of solving the balance regulation. The tone is controlled by two sliders – one for the right and one for the left channel. They can be adjusted together or separately so that you can adjust the sound to your individual needs. There is a headphone jack on the side of the case. There are slightly oblique brackets attached to the base, but the device can also stand horizontally.
The amplifier, apart from its technical function, also has a beautiful design. The slim line, wooden elements combined with black steel and the quality of workmanship make it a coherent and timeless design. The set also includes the original Beovox 1702 speakers, number 6252, in a teak cabinet. They were designed in 1972. The loudspeakers are part of the Beosystem 1001 and blend in perfectly with the amplifier. They are extremely efficient and have very good sound quality. They have a frequency response of 50-20,000 Hz and it is considered a power of up to 20 W RMS or 40 W of total music power. The bass has a diameter of 15 cm, the tweeter is 2.5 cm.
The equipment has been renovated. The teak covers have been protected with wax. The center of the amplifier is cleared. There are slight abrasions under the zippers on the panel, but it is unavoidable with this model. Wiring and plugs original, slightly yellowed. The kit is ready for use.
