Bengt Karl Erik Lindström lived from 1925 to 2008. Lindström is one of the most famous contemporary Swedish artists. His works are characterized by a distinct style with the use of many colors. The influence of the comics is evident in its directness and unambiguous message. In 1944, Lindström moved to Stockholm to study with the Swedish painter Isaac Grünewald. In 1948 he went to Paris, where he studied with French painters André Lhote and Fernand Léger. He remained in France in Savigny sur Orge until the end of his artistic career. Lindström is probably best known for its exterior decorations, such as murals and colorful sculptures. One of his most famous sculptures is the massive Y sculpture at Midlanda Airport north of Sundsvall, Sweden.
