Description
This set of two rare bedside tables was manufactured in Warsaw by the famous Polish factory – ‘Zakład Wyrobów Metalowych Konrad, Jarnuszkiewicz i S-ka’. This set was created at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. They are made of solid brass with marble tops. They have a metal drawer and a cabinet t the bottom. The pieces of futnirure have carved patterns with light and classic decorations that are slightly different. Inside the drawer there is a metal plate with the name of the company.
‘Zakład Wyrobów Metalowych Konrad, Jarnuszkiewicz i S-ka’ was established in 1871. Initially, the company operated under the name ‘Władysław Gostyński i S-ka’, but in 1894 the bussines was taken over by Gustaw Konrad and Stanisław Jarnuszkiewicz. This factory is a historic place on the Art Dèco design map. They created the highest quality, simple and functional furniture from noble materials such as brass or nickel, designed by famous architects and advertised in such magazines. Many exhibits from the production of Konrad, Jarnuszkiewicz and S-ka adorned offices, apartments and salons of important authorities and intellectuals, including The Shah of Iran or luxury hotels in Russia. The factory closed in 1949.
This set is in original vintage condition with traces of age and patina. Height up to 80 cm.
