This armchair with catalog number EA105 was designed in 1958 by the famous couple Ray & Charles Eames for the American manufacture Herman Miller. This copy was produced in the 1970s by the Swiss brand Vitra, so its distribution was only in Europe. An interesting fact is that it has two signatures – both Vitra and Herman Miller. Additionally, it has a stamped, individual number. This office chair is distinguished by an intelligent combination of materials. It has a transparent, light form, where the structure is clearly visible, and the use of aluminum in the frame construction adds stability to the design. The natural leather upholstery is attached to the side edges of the frame, but it is laid loosely in such a way that it ergonomically adapts to the human posture. The EA105 has a polished, cross-shaped base and a fixed seat height. This is the most minimalist chair from the entire range of Aluminum Group. The base does not rotate and this model does not have armrests. It is available in leather or Hopsak upholstery. In our studio there is the most elegant version, that is uniform natural leather.
This armchair is in original vintage condition. It has traces of time in the form of slight abrasions to the chrome and in the place where the frame meets the upholstery. The leather has been embalmed and is very soft. The seat is 47 cm high.
