Description
This exceptionally rare chair with arms was designed by Franco Albini in 1933 and produced by Tecta during the 1950s. The frame is made of tubular chrome-plated steel but the seat and back are made of real leather with beautiful natural patina. The chair carry great influence from the Bauhaus School, but with distinct detailing not found with Marcel Breuer or Mies van der Rohe works. Albini was renowned as a designer, working for both Ponti and Lancia studios. The armchairs are absolutely gorgeous and make reference to Mies van der Rohe’s MR lounge chairs. Uniquely, however, it has a fascinating and very complex arm detail.
This piece is original and of exceptionally high quality. Original vintage condition with traces of age: patina and scratches.
