Description
This industrial large Scandinavian cabinet with 15 drawers was manufactured in Sweden by S.K.N. Aktiebolaget Edsbyn Möbelfabrik in 1955s. The cabinet is made of wood and has original metal handles. This piece has 15 drawers in the same size. The wood has been finished in honey tone and has a natural patina. This piece of furniture perfect match to industrial and raw interiors and works well in loft spaces. It is ideal for storing documents and other small things.
In 1899, craftsman Lars Fredrik Pettersson started a carpentry workshop producing furniture for the growing town of Edsbyn. In 1928 his son, Ivar Pettersson, took over and a new era began. Ivar Pettersson studied Henry Ford’s production line and was probably first in Sweden to implement professional processes, templates, fixing plates and workstations for industrialised furniture manufacture. In 1934, Edsbyn Ski Factory opened, although the company had been producing skis for the Swedish armed forces as early as 1905. “You’re making our skis! Can’t you make our office furniture too?” – that’s what the armed forces asked Edsbyn. This was the background to Edsbyn becoming one of the Nordic region’s most popular brands for furnishing public spaces.
This piece is in original vintage condition with traces of age. It has scrapes, scratches, minor chips of veneer, marks and natural patina.
