This set of 2 miniature bowls was designed by Gunnar Borg for the Swedish manufacture Gunnars Keramik Höganäs during the 1960s. Handmade by the Master, with the utmost care and attention to detail. Bowls dyed in an irregular shade of sand brown and green. Signed with the author’s signature and the manufacturer’s brand.
Gunnar Borg (1926 – 2007) is still one of the leading representatives of Scandinavian ceramic design of the 20th century. Known for miniature, handmade ceramic and stoneware objects, mainly vases. He also created lamp bases, cups, decorative bowls and ashtrays. He started his career at the age of 14 at Andersson & Johansson in Höganäs. From 1940, he worked there for the next 28 years. The artist’s creativity and craftsmanship can be seen in every item. In 1968, Borg founded his own workshop, where he operated until his death.
Gunnars Keramik Höganäs was founded in 1968 by Gunnar Borg, a leading representative of 20th century Scandinavian ceramic design. After leaving Andersson & Johansson, he continued to produce miniature vases, lamp bases, candlesticks and ashtrays on his own. He used white stoneware clay brought from the Netherlands. Borg worked in his workshop until his death in 2007.
