Catalog sideboard designed by a student of the Bauhaus school in Dessau – Franz Ehrlich. The project was created for the German manufacture VEB Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau and is cataloged under the number 427 / K. The chest of drawers was produced in 1967. It is made with remarkable solidity, based on such wood species as white ash and elm. It has a natural grain pattern, arranged in a regular manner, which emphasizes the craftsmanship and aesthetics of the carpentry. The chest of drawers has three drawers made of thick burgundy-colored material. The front of the drawers is decorated with a grayscale painting, maintaining the natural structure of the wood. This design impresses with its timeless form, which, through its characteristic base, refers to zoomorphic shapes. It is an example of top-class design and perfect workmanship in a German manufacture.
This sideboard is in very good vintage condition, the only minor scratches are inside the drawers. The original manufacturing label is on the back plate.
