Description

The four-door, solid sideboard from the turn of the 50s and 60s. The furniture was brought from Denmark. Made of two types of wood: teak and oak massif. The solid, compact form was broken by a hypnotizing, three-dimensional pattern in the Op-Art style. The classic black and white color was combined with pastel turquoise. The top is waxed in a natural shade of wood, the edge around it is finished in black matte. At the bottom there is a geometric strip, which optically lengthens the sideboard even more. The front of the furniture, including the outer doors, is rounded, giving it a convex shape. The teak legs, cut downwards, have original, brass fittings. The height of the legs is 28 cm. The interior of the sideboard is equipped with two, spacious shelves. The doors have a mounted lock, and two keys are included. The furniture is a representative of the Mid-Century Modern trend. The regular shape with a disproportionate length to the other dimensions, the graceful contour and linear finish give it a timeless look. It fully reflects the idea of Scandinavian design.

The sideboard has been partially restored keeping it’s natural patina. This is a piece of furniture finished according to the rules of the Upcycled Vintage course. Its form is original and dates from the 20th century, but the final finish has been changed by artistic invention or composition of parts from different original object. All treatment are performed by traditional methods, are consisted with the aesthetic of the age from which the furniture comes from and support the Zero Waste idea.
