Description
This modular sofa was manufactured by Ulferts during the 1960s. The armchairs were fully upholstered with a thick, velvety material in a shade of mahogany brown. Delicacy is added by light quilting of the seat and backrest. A well-shaped back and a soft seat ensure high comfort of use. The sofa fits perfectly into a modern-style living room, it will also be found in more complicated interiors like Space Age.
Ulferts is a Swedish manufacturer known for designing furniture in the Mid-Century Modern style, where comfort takes control over the design and aesthetic values follow it. Modernity in terms of MCM is a retreat from the decadence of previous eras and the related snobbish creativity – here are simple lines and simple shapes. This does not mean, however, that furniture and accessories from that period are not visually attractive – on the contrary, their simple forms have their own unique charm, and their grace is enhanced by the ingenious use of colors and materials.
This set is in original vintage condition with slight traces of age.
