Description

This modern sofa was designed by Ole Wanscher and manufactured in Denmark by Poul Jeppesens Møbelfabrik A/S during the 1950s. This three-seater couch has a mahogany frame, fitted with loose cushions upholstered with an elegant green wool fabric. Ole Wanscher was born in 1903 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He studied at the Danish School of Art and Design. Wanscher was an architect and professor of architecture specialising in furniture designs. Ole Wanscher was mainly influenced by Professor Kaare Klint, whom he worked with from 1924 to 1927. Nowadays, his items of furniture are considered to be modern classics made with a special eye for detail. In the 1950s he also started a collaboration with Poul Jeppesens Møbelfabrik A/S. This collaboration continued until the end of his life. Characteristic of the designs by Ole Wanscher is his search for slim dimensions and resilient shapes.

This item has a signs of wear befitting its age, some scratches on the wood. The fabric is in excellent condition.
