This elegant two-seater sofa was manufactured in Denmark by Stouby during the 1960s. This design of sofa was made according to 2212 model designed by Børge Mogensen for Fredericia. Stouby is a company that for several generations has been an integral part of the Danish and international furniture scene. The history of Stouby is a true Danish furniture fairytale. This classic sofa will be pretty familiar to those of you who love Scandinavian Mid-century design. It is the embodiment of Danish design of the period. The generous seat and high sides make for a super comfortable place to just rest for a while or relax for a whole evening. However, it is in the carefully calculated proportions of the sofa where Danish designers really triumph. This sofa is not large but elegant. The leather upholstery is in chocolate brown colour and has a natural patina. The beautiful leather piping features all the way around the base of the sofa. It has quite a masculine aesthetic, but with a lightness that makes it appear to float from a distance. It’s so simple that it will blend in with any interior, but at the same time it has a strong presence. In fact it becomes less an accessory and more integral to any room it graces. In this piece of furniture is a timeless classic.
This sofa is in original vintage condition with natural patina and traces of age, some scrapes.
