This glamour sideboard was manufactured in Italy in the turn of 1960s and 1970s. It is made from wood and rosewood veneer with irregular, strong grain from very rare perennial defects on the tree. A burl (or burr) is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a deformed manner. It is commonly found in the form of a rounded outgrowth on a tree trunk or branch that is filled with small knots from dormant buds. Burls yield a very peculiar and highly figured wood, prized for its beauty and rarity. It is sought after by furniture makers, artists, and wood sculptors. These are highly valued and sliced into veneers for furniture, luxury household objects, automobile interior paneling and trim, expensive musical instruments and woodturning. Moreover, the sideboard has a pair of sliding doors with brass modern handles and two drawers with round wooden handles. The drawers have been upholstered inside in elegant billiard fabric. It has a angular compass legs. This sideboard was made in the vein of Hollywood Regency Style and is in very good vintage condition.
